Refrigerated Wine Wall

The Design

Two types of internal oak finishes, pull-out shelving, flocking lining, brass bronze inlays, Jeroboam picture frame low temp centre exhibit, routed floating bottle pitched shelving, multiple temperature zones.

‘I don’t want it to look like fridges’ – the client

This was the first design stipulation from the client. He knew a refrigerated wine wall was what he wanted but he also did not want anything to resemble a typical display fridge look.

The design finish details were therefore pushed through the roof with richness:

Wenge Veneer for the internal carcass with moisture resistant core.

Wenge Veneer ply core external structural walls for adequate strength to mount the double-glazed doors. Moisture resistant timber pitched shelving dressed in a mink flocking lining.

Potoro gold stone clad walls for the low temperature centre jeroboam bottle exhibit.

Lower-case pull-out shelving has the cases sat on bronze brass rods routed into the shelves.

Bronze Antique mirror cladding to the carcass rear walls adds more depth and richness.

Internally the structure incorporates three separate temperature zones.

The centre timber structure is internally clad with 100mm thick insulation to allow for low temperature champagne storage down to 6c.

Refrigeration System

This refrigerated wine wall appears to be just one system, however there is a triple zoned internal cooling system within the display.

The custom assembled refrigeration evaporators sit within the upper bulkhead design, therefore the refrigerated air is channelled through the ceiling mounted air diffuser grill. The return air is drawn up through the rear of the custom wine cellar display  cabinetry.

The left double door internal cabinets are for white wine at 10-12c. The centre internal carcass has increased insulation and double-glazed doors to allow for a lower temperature of 6c for champagne. The right double doors internal cabinets are for red wine at 14-16c.

This grand masterpiece refrigerated wine wall was a £80,000+vat design project.
