Small Wine Cellar

Small Wine Cellar

This Small wine cellar was converted from a client’s previous home study. This was a complete conversion including all the site build work, M&E and cabinetry manufacturing. It was completed just four weeks from strip out to hand over to our very happy client. The timber finish is a pre-laminated board with an edging finish.

The works list includes all the following:

  1. Strip out all existing study shelving
  2. Plaster skim all walls and ceiling
  3. Wine refrigeration system installation
  4. New electrical lighting circuits
  5. Decorate all existing walls and door
  6. Fit new seal to door for an air-tight closure
  7. Manufacture and install all new wine display cabinetry
  8. Take all necessary care and precautionary measures during installation to ensure complete protection to the access route. Cover all floors and walls during the work duration.

The Design of a small wine cellar:

  • The recent wine room design follows our signature ergonomically balanced wine bottle storage practices.
  • Wine cases at a low level for weight reasons being the most practical location.
  • Pitched mid-section bottles are in position as the showpiece of the bottles by the client.
  • High-level bulk wine storage as individual bottles which is handy to replenish the pitched bottle sections.
  • We can easily see warm white led lighting strips with frosted diffusers under all shelving areas.
  • The client decided on adding a rich, heavily veined, stone finish counter which adds a beautiful contrast with this small wine cellar timber.

Wine refrigeration system:

The installation of our custom home wine cellar refrigeration system was subsequently done in two-parts, indoor and outdoor. We installed an internal wine cooler in the overhead bulkhead. While internal pipe running to the external was installed through ceilings, walls and floor of the bedroom above. Precision route planning means minimal repair work needed to the existing areas that were opened for access. The cooled air supply flows through the frame-less grill situated in the center top bulkhead. The return air path travels behind a void in the cabinetry rear. This continues down to the low-level grills concealed behind the wine boxes. It's necessary to maintain an unimpeded air distribution all across the small wine room. The total cost of this small wine cellar project delivered to the south of London was £50,000.

This price included:

  • Build works
  • Pre-laminated timber wine display
  • Lighting and control system
  • Wine refrigeration system
  • Stone counter

Ready to discuss your new small wine cellar project with us today?

We ask all our clients for the following information when they get in contact for the first time.

  • Project start date?
  • Project budget?
  • Any existing designs/ drawings to follow or a project from our website?
  • Do you have outdoor space?

Our project managers and design team can present the initial options available with this information.

As an example, if you have no outdoor space, then we will propose a wine display design that incorporates a Eurocave wine fridge by Eurocave at the core of the design. If you are looking for faster installation lead times with minimal on-site disruptions, then this could be the answer for your project. Recently launched purpose-built wine fridges offer faster wine storage system installations simultaneously with less manufacturing and fit-out disturbance.
